Coyote rigs!!!!!!!

Just did some more load testing on my "Coyote rig"
Tikka M55, 6XC Custom, Kreiger barrel. Just got it back from Terry at Black Art Rifles.
Another great build buy Terry.
Found one nice load with 87gr VMax's, 3360 fps.
Now, to find some coyotes.

Happy New Year CGN

I finally got to get away from the city for a cpl days. I snuck up on this 30 lb yote feeding on a dead cow carcus.(1st pic just above the tractor tire)

Weatherby Vanguard series 1 with a Houge overmold rubber stock and a Bushnell Elite 2.5x16x42 blasting .223 Hornaday V Max 40 grain from 100 yards double lung through and through. She folded like a cheap umbrella.

Good luck in the new year

Mossberg MVP 5.56 topped with a Vortex 6.5 -20 × 50. And a Champion bi pod. Using my hand loads...55gr V Max over 24gr H335 has been deadly on coyotes to 300 meters. Also use a Foxpro Wildfire 2 for calling. Love this set up!

No pics, I am on my phone.

965 winchester hbv in .225 win
Bushnell doa 600
handloads must be a 55gr going slow 3570 fps to work with the scope
in a bedded bc stock I hate but the gun loves
I am in the market for a winchester wood stock for it so pm if you got one.

I got a guy at work here that eats them, but he's a little crazy. Some guys just leave in the bush them others skin them and sell the pelts.

What does a pelt go for? If I killed the animals I would want to do something otherwise I feel like I am wasting their life. I know theyre pests and should die but I still feel the need to not just ditch them in the bush.

Typically Eastern Coyotes have fetched a lower rate then their Western cousins. Odd considering they are typically larger. Back when the PHC Board held it's annual contest some of the guys out West were getting $65-$80/pelt depending on quality, color phase and or minimal pelt damage. PHC hasn't been up now going into its' second season, so the prices mave or may not have fluctuated since then.

It is a shame PHC wasn't ressurected from the hack that happened, as it was truely a great source for Predator hunters in Can.

Here's my main rig.

It's a Tac21 Chassis with the Skeleton Butt stock, Savage 11 action with precision ground lug. Broughton fluted barrel chambered in 6.5 creedmoor, rifle basix sav 2 trigger, tactical bolt handle, finished at 27". It's topped with a 4.5x14x50mm Zeiss conquest. It's a very accurate rifle. I'm using 129gr sst factory ammo. Building up brass, I haven't been able to find any virgin brass yet. It is 3/4-1" with factory ammo so the potential is there with hand loads to tighten it up a bit. Need to find a more pelt friendly bullet. I will be trying 120gr Gmx next. Hoping for small hole in small out.

I've been talking to a guy in Alaska and he has a 6.5 creed and he says he is using a lapua fmj at about 2600-2800 fps.
