Factory Ruger 77V in 6mm Rem, 4.5-14 VXIII and 70 gr BT's. I shot a 0.21" 3 shot 100yrd group with this last week at the range, incredible old gun. It doesnt like coyotes very much.
I think any caliber under 243 is strictly for varminting and paper punching, anything 243 and bigger can be used for varminting, paper punching and get you a nice 10 pts with it, maybe that why you do not ear much about the 17 and 204, personel opinion 223 and 22-250 are in big numbers a lot of followers... Cheers. JP.
Well the old triple duece works fine, Tikka t3 light 204 is my current favorite cause it`s easy to carry and accurate. Been working on a 17 Rem just have too many projects, maybe this winter it`ll get done. Still looking for another 22-250, one of my favorites just haven`t found the rifle i want.
rem 700 .243 with a 3x9 leupold. I was thinking of putting a bi-pod on it but my dad thinks it is blasphemy to be on a wood gun. Shooting sticks it is for those long shots.

I better get to work. I just got my barrel last week and need to put this together. It's going to be a .257 Roberts AI built on a Savage action and Accustock. The barrel is a Shillen Select Match grade and I hope to get some 75gr V-Max moving around 3600fps. I have a Sightron Big Sky on a .223 and I'll use that till I can afford another one.
