I just purchased one of these Remingtons as a target/coyote gun. I was hoping to scope it with a 4x14x40 Leupold Varmint scope but that reticle is no longer available with the varmint reticle. I was hoping to get some recommendation on a good scope for a 223. without spending $3000 on the 6x24 varmint option they have now.

The VX-3HD 4.5-14x40 is available with a Boone and Crocket reticle which is kinda similar to the varmint. Shows $699US on leupolds website so, $2500 canadian??

Just kidding, looks like ~$1050 CDN

when I started out coyote hunting I used a 3 to 9 power scope.it worked excellent as I shot coyotes inside 50 yards.

4.4-14x40 cds would be my ideal scope on my lvsf in .223.But right now it still wears the 3-9x40 cds i put on it years ago.Great gun and mine shoots very well.Good luck on your search.

Sightron makes the S-Tac 4-16 with duplex reticle. On-line reviews give it a positive for tracking and on other points.

I just bought one from Prophet River but have not used it yet. I like mine out of the box. Glass is good. If it tracks as reviewed, I will be very happy with it.

I think a scope like this would work fine for the OP.

I had my vx6 on my lvsf until I sold it. 204 ruger it was very accurate. It’s been replaced by matching superlites in 22-250. The hunters edge was great on the lvsf also.
