I think Im going to start my winter coyote hunting tommorrow as Ive seen lots of dogs with good coats.:50cal: Picked up a new Stevens in 22-250 to try this winter, havent shot the 250 for a few years and would like to give it another go.

Any of you guys been out?? Any idea on what the prices of fur will be this winter with the dollar being high?? Im going to be hunting out of a Toyota Corolla  as the F-150 is just waaay to expesive to drive. Yotes will be sprayed with raid and bagged in the trunk.

I should be able to shed a few pounds as a bonus by driving a car cause I'll have alot of walking.Good luck fellows, happy coyote hunting!!:D

Cheers!!

The last auction showed about 40,000 unsold coyotes left in the system. I don't even know anyone who is buying coyotes this year, though of course someone will be. I prefer worthless coyotes, because most people stay home.

I have been hearing the same thing. Most hides will be lucky to sell (especially damaged/shot fur)let alone get anymore than 5 bucks for them. For the first time in a long time a Colored Fox may be worth more than a Coyote.

Long hair isnt in fashion/demand right now unless its something that can be sheared it seems. All we can hope for is a winter starting on Dec 21st at -30C (Here and in Russia and Europe) and staying there until March 21st. Cold winters always help fur prices when the designers try to fill the demand for warm fashionable clothing.

Country buyers have been paying pretty well for prime coon this fall in the States. Lets hope its a sign of a change in the market. Either that or the market will be saturated with coons and they wont be worth a wooden nickle...........:D

Its a volitile market.

Whitetail season is still on until Saturday .I don't think I want to try to explain to a C.O. why I am carrying a rifle without a tag.

You can hunt coyotes while deer season is on, check you regs :) Only place you cant hunt is the Moose Jaw /Regina WMZ and the Saskatoon WMZ while the big game season is on but its closed so both are good to go. No hunting coyotes on Sundays in any zones on Sundays while big game season is on.

Ive been stopped before and all they do is ask what you're hunting and they're fine with it. They asked me last year if I knew it was an open big game season (deer) I repiled yes and that was it. No need to expalin anything else.

Cheers!!
