Anybody knows someone near Edmonton who buys whole coyotes or skin and stretches them for a fee?

...and then gives them back to you? For free? Nope.

It may be worth buying it from you if it's in good condition...even then it's not worth risking over $15 paying for it. If that seems low, then do it yourself, keep track of how long it takes, then send it to auction and let me know how you make out. ...it's more lucrative to get a part time job at min wage.

How and when did you get the yote? Did you blast a giant hole in it? Is it covered in blood? How are you storing it? If it's fresh and stored inside you better hurry up and do something before the belly turns green.

If all that is good, you process it properly, and get an average grading you would get $85 to $100. (if fur prices are flat from last auction).

If there is one thing wrong and you get down graded... expect $5 to $15.

Pretty sure he was expecting to pay someone for it. Not really a ludicrous question.
 
...sorry...for a fee. That's a risky venture as well.

Would you keep it or send it to auction?

Some guys may be happy to take your money and do it as fast as possible, hack it up, leave it dirty and bloody and not do the ears right.
 
Is there anyone that will just buy it in frozen up in a ball form? I have a nice one that isn't shot to #### in the freezer, but I live in a townhouse. Over the holidays I hope to add a couple bold coyotes from my parents property to it.

wow, that's cheap for the amount of work involved. It took me forever to do mine, and I had a professional guiding me through. I made "lots" of mistakes. LOL
 
I can skin, flesh and board the average coyote in right around an hour. I have a shed set up with everything I need including hot water to clean up and a 120V winch on the ceiling to winch the hide off. You have to be a little tolerant of odours to put up fur but in the last few years it has been well worth my time. Once you get a bit of practise it really is not that hard to do. I have a few friends that shoot coyotes and drop them off for me but a lot of the times if they have a big bullet hole I won't bother to put them up.
 
I charge $25.00 to skin and flesh $30.00 if you want the feet left on. Most of the ones I get are from dog hunters who want to get them tanned so I do not have to stretch them. I am in Ontario and our coyotes are not worth as much as I charge.

Well, the real laugh is, it's a true story.

Health Inspector found a coyote carcass hanging in their cooler. Uninspected meat, same exact deal if they had had Moose or deer in there, but the local news didn't focus on that at all, they played up the Chinese Restaraunt had a coyote in the cooler story pretty hard, and didn't much cover the actual situation, letting the public think these guys were feeding it to customers, when there was no evidence to support that, beyond some particularly racist jokes (mostly about cats).

Now whether they were consuming it for their own purposes, or it was there after having been skinned out, the way it was played up in the media caused them to bail out and as far as I know, not bother to come back.

When it was all going on, in the midst of the hoopla, there actually were one or two outlets that were covering the story from the inspector's point of view, and delivering the facts, but they got swamped out in the noise and foolishness of the general coverage.
