Coyote

The Surgeon has an integral scope base which is a major selling factor for me.

PGW produced both the TWOLF and COYOTE initially with integral rails however Military clients specified removable rails as the fixed was deemed to not offer the flexibility required to facilitate various day/night sight configurations.

The rail is affixed with five 10-32 screws and a guide rib....if it comes off something serious enough has happened that you would not be concerned with the condition of the rifle.

As a side note I know Preston from Surgeon and he is a great guy with a great product. He can't party worth a damn and he is old but we don't hold that against him;)

Congrats GopherSlayer. Not knocking the NF but you should reconsider the S&B.

Doesn't exist. My 75 lb son was banging lead off the gong ten rounds at a time at 200 from the bench. Wife likes it so much that she wants one ... and I'm tempted to get her one. (I'm just not sure how I'm going to squeeze it into the defence budget though.)

I went out to the Gun Club today to test out my new Coyote. I shot the groups at 200 yards. My load was 46gr Varget, 155gr Lapua's, Laupa's Case with 210M Federal primers. All the groups shot pretty good. The target on the left with the groups that are 12 o'clock high were my first 5 shots, then after that made a sight correction. Here are a few pictures. All I can say is the rifle shoots damn pretty good.

SYxx15, What colour is that A5? It looks to be molded in but looks a little lighter than OD. That may be because of the lighter colour on the barreled action though.

Beautiful rifle by the way.

The colour on the A5 is OD green. You are right, the barrel/action is a lighter colour than the stock.:dancingbanana:

I actually didn't... I had to save up for months! Mind you, I don't think Syxx15 exactly lives under a bridge eating cat food if he procured himself a 5500$ rifle, considerably more than mine :p

Obivously not suggesting he do this immediately, but that he possibly make it a long term goal :)

just read this on the S&b website "The 5–25 x 56 is offered with 56 MOA of 1/4 MOA clicks, or 273cm (93 MOA) of 1cm clicks" is that enough moa to get me out to 1000+ yards?

Just a rough idea: You're going to need, depending on your load, roughly 30-40 moa up at 1000. The scope has 56. Say half of that is available(28) + the 25 moa rail = 53 moa. Yes, you'll have enough....and not much to spare. I'm surprised that the S&B only has 56 moa of elevation adjustment. Are you sure that's correct? My NXS has 100.
