Coyotes got my neighbour's dog

If you have animals, take care of them. I've had dogs my whole life, some inside, some outside. 6 outside dogs are kenneled. labs and GS. They are out loose when someone is out working in the yard etc. I also have a small JRT in the house.

As much as these dogs are bonded to me, they are not family. They don't even look like me.

For those who think their pets are on the same level as your family, try locking your wife and kids and dogs in the trunk of your car. Take them for a little 30 minute ride. See who is genuinely glad to see you, and who is pissed when you open the trunk.:nest:

My border collie thinks the yotes are her friends and chases them around the field bowling them over before chasing down another, she is a 'tard but I still love her. FIY the yotes get blasted on a regular basis by the ol' 7mm rem mag.

No the reason is I have 6 boys and not enough time to spoil a pet because I AM spending time with them. Maybe you should try it.

are you trying to imply that i neglect my family? you do not know me from jesus and have no idea what my family situation is.

like i said, you are projecting your own shortcomings onto others. i was careful enough to not produce more offspring than i can raise without being overwelmed to the point of having zero free time.

For those who treat your dog like your family maybe you should get rid of the dog and spend better quality time with your family. My dog is outside 24/7, it's a dog, not a member of my family. I train her, hunt her and take care of her. She has a shelter which she doesn't use outside of the winter, she gets fed and watered. She's worth more money than my truck but she's still a dog. If you leave a hunting dog loose they will go hunting, its what they do. They should be tied or kennelled if you aren't out there with them. If your that worried about yotes then trap them.
Just my humble opinion :)

In my house you'd be considered an abuser of animals. My dogs sleep in my bed with me, under the blankets with my wife and I.

Last post for me, alot of you guys are too PETA cenetered for me..

saying that its your last post and then throwing out another insult is weak sauce. grow up and post as if you are standing on front of the person.

you are also spinning the argument to suit your agenda. you have no idea if i 'project' onto my dog and your thinly veiled insults make no sense. who wouldnt get offended at someone implying that they neglect their family?

high school is over. time to raise the bar a bit.

It happened again:mad:

Last week, a neighbor let their Jack Russell out for a pee around 11:00 p.m., it took off after something, and never came back. 'Yotes were spotted for a few days before, and the night after the dog disappeared, a pair were sitting in front of the house, presumably waiting for another snack.

Subsequently I heard that another dog went missing recently about a kilometer away. The local Humane Society is telling people to keep small dogs and cats inside at all times, due to the level of coyote predations. Frack.

Someone recommend an electronic caller that is good value? I've got the .223 bolt gun, snow camo and warm clothing, so I'm almost good to go.

I would tie the owners up outside and let the yotes have at them... personally, for me cruelty to animals is right up there with child molestation.

This is an old comment but it really bugs me. I love dogs too but NEVER will I compare the life of a dog to that of a childs. Its a sad fact but many "parents" care alot more about their little lap dogs then their real children...

I do not think kicking a dog or even beating it (Its still a very bad thing) is just as bad a child being molestated.

On my way to work this morning I saw two of the little bastards dragging a fawn across a field.

And I was wondering why we had low deer numbers this fall.....

"He pulls a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That's the Yote-Huntin' way!"

Oh No! Wild animals eating other wild animals!

This isnt freaken' Bambi.

You do know the reason their are so many yotes, dont you? Its precisely because their are so many prey animals. Predators dont magically appear out of thin air. Lots of food = lots of predators.

Did I say it was Bambi? Did I say I was 'upset' about it?

I said what I saw. This is a thread about coyotes killing other animals. I added to it.

Thanks though.

Good on you for helping to make up for all the narcissists who are too busy gratifying themselves to give the gift of life.

Reminds me of a wench where I used to work. I asked her once if she and her husband had any plans to have kids. "No, I like my life" she replied in a sneery tone.

"Good thing our parents didn't have the same idea" was my reply.

You will be richly rewarded for the time you invest in your kids. And when they are grown, you'll have plenty of time for the things you want to do.

The narcissists will die alone and forgotten with nothing but the memories of their self-indulgence, and their regrets.

we keep our hounds outside tied up all the time...But there is 4 of them and they are all within reach of each other, mostly walker/blue tick and they don't take kindly to the coyote kind :D
