coyotes stalking my dog

Don't know how I missed this the first time round, so here's the answers to your questions...
1. Yes they are "hunting" him.
2. Never tell anyone you have a labradoodle. Call him a mutt, mixed breed or crossbreed.

Get a big live trap, then take it to the edge of town and dispatch, repeat as necessary. If you catch a pet let it go or return it to the owner. I've had coyotes go after my Britts when hunting but I carry slugs to end the issue.

Get a pellet gun or BB gun . I insta killed a ground hog at 50 metres with one some 15 years ago . I felt super terrible afterwards . U maybe not be able to kill them with a pellet gun and u may not be allowed to discharge one in your area but I’m pretty sure it’s only a fine if u do get caught and imo a fine is well worth my dogs safety if there no other legal option

As the OP, I should offer an update since this thread was revived.
I called our township. They were no help. They emailed me a link to their "recommendations for dealing with wildlife page". No willingness to consult a trapper based on what I explained. I cannot discharge a firearm in my area. My dog has since grown to 100 lbs since I started this thread. He is a very dominant male. The coyotes seem to have moved on. On their own accord.

living in the middle of a city where I'm not allowed to even use bows over 10lb they are coming into to the city pretty far now I blame all the new subdivisions being built. I was looking into live traps catch them and bring them out to where I can legally shoot to put them down princess auto had coyote sized live traps not long ago

Glad everything worked out. Coyotes definitely tried to take out my Brittany many times. He managed to stay away from them but it was nerve wracking. I always have the sling shot ready to go, works on the bears too.

I LOLd when reading the description of the coyote scentry product

"Each Coyote Scentry is coated with a special scent that triggers the "fight or flight" response in coyotes by simulating the presence of a larger aggressive coyote predator."

So it COULD send the coyote running away scared, OR it could make it angry and attack?!?! Lol

Simply walk up to the Yotes.......and tell them in a "kumbia Way"....stop, you Dont Have To Do This"

A guy tried this on a bear attack a while back...................

well good to hear that it all worked out.

first thing I did when I moved into the new place was set up 6' chainlink fencing to make a fair size enclosure for the dogs. Also motion lights, coyotes are keeping themselves

now I back on to ecological reserve and I can shoot within reason on my property but the safety arcs are limited and I don't want to piss off the neighbors.

Would this fall under asset protection? We had a coyote take one of our cats last year. 4 mornings ago around 6am as I was getting the cats and dogs in, a large coyote ran by me. Was no further than 10yrds. I was not armed. From dusk to dawn now I go out with our pets and pray another comes around. I may not hit it but im prepared if i do.
