Hey, can someone tell me how to install the couplers I bought with my LAR 15 mags? Do I have to bend the tabs on the bottom of the magazines? Do I take the mag apart? I thought they'd just slide in there, but I tried that and the tabs on the coupler started to crack, and the first 1mm or so on both sides broke off. Still usable, but I'd rather get the benefit of someone else's experience before I try again.

Thanks,

Mark

The tab on the bottom will slide out, you just need to get enough leverage on it to get it over the lip. Use a small flat bladed screwdriver.

you don't want to do that too many times with aluminum mags (not sure what the lar mags are made from) as the little tabs on the mag body will weaken eventually. Its no big deal just keep that in mind.

Insert your mags into your gun and draw a line at the mag well, wrap them in tape, I used hockey tape. I used flat black hockey tape myself. The plastic connectors are cheeseburger, doesn't take much to brake them and if you don't notice you might end up missing a mag. One of these days I'm going to make some aluminum connectors and rivet them on.

How will you clean them?

Questar also sells them, though polymer as opposed to aluminum.

Plastic breaks too easy. I don't recommend them.

I have both the aluminum and the plastic.

To be honest, the only thing I have noticed so far is that the magazine baseplate can slowly slide forwards with the plastic one, not fast, but fire a few mags and it will have moved 1/8". Can be easily pushed back in place, but irritating none the less.

If you have the choice, get the aluminum ones.
