Leslyn Lewis is my first choice. Erin O'Toole is my second. I won't be marking any other names on my ballot. Worst case scenario, if/when she doesn't become PM I get to call liberal voters a bunch of racist mysoginists.
I love this....;) ;) ;)
Lets support her.

Sorry I don't feel like reading through everyone one of these posts lol. I just got a membership and want to vote for Lewis, however I believe the deadline to vote was back in April. I can't find a way to login and vote. Anyone else having this issue?

Really the right way for her to address abortion is just to state that she is personally against it, but she recognizes its a woman's right to choose.

Not saying I agree or disagree, but its likely the only way both sides get some semblance of satisfaction.

I sent an email to McKay, Lewis, and O'Toole about my concerns in regard to the liberal's new gun ban regulations. Lewis was the only one to respond and she responded with a detailed platform of how she would repeal the regulation and target the source of firearms issues that we face in Canada. I'm still on the fence, but I've had a few interactions with Lewis now via email and I am starting to lean heavily towards her as my number one choice.
Wow...that’s impressive.

So much this. Simply stating "I have no intention to change the existing laws" would immediately silence critics on this issue.

The vote has been moved to August 21 and is being done by postal ballot. The new deadline to sign up as a member for purposes of voting has been moved to MAY 15. Previous deadline was April17.
If you do join, be prepared for lots of solicitation for donations etc... Its just the way it works. There's a non refundable entry fee of a couple hundred thousand just to enter.

i'm for lewis as she is the only chance to get people who don't normally vote conservative on board. In addition; it would be great to label justin as the rich entitled white guy who is racist and ###ist if he can't accept a minority female as pm of canada.
awesome...;)

Who has the best chance to get a majority? The conservatives need to leave their archaic ways in the past. Support the LGBTQ, dont bring up abortion and they need to buy into the climate bull#### even if its a face. We want ### married couples to be able to protect their marijuana plants with guns
Omfg this made me spit my coffee out laughing lol made my day.

Yes get these memberships rolling this tyrant needs to go, membership paid for

In addition to this, Leslyn will beat the opposition and media "whores" with her calm diplomatic mind and super intelligence, she will play with all opposition like someone who beats idiots with their own stupidity. Leslyn is black female, a true conservative to that, not experienced spoiled fat chair politician with lots of "experience". We want a fresh normal folks kind of person to win hearts of many liberals without appeasing them.

With Leslyn, CPC would become truly invincible, hopefully our fellas members of CPC could look further than just a few feet in front of them, and cast their vote for Leslyn. We all win if she gets elected!
Good points.

Although attractive, it's a statement stolen from the Libertarian platform. Unfortunately, the Libertarians aren't heard very much in Canada.

Sorry is this has been posted already, but this is the letter I got from Lewis’s campaign today, regard Trudeau’s bull#### ban:

Last week I announced that as Prime Minister I would repeal the undemocratic and ineffective Liberal firearm ban.

The disrespect that Justin Trudeau showed for Parliament and for law-abiding gun owners is amazing.

And there's more to come.

Media coverage broke over the weekend that revealed that there are more bans coming.

The facts remain: none of these Liberal policies will do anything to stop gun smuggling at the border, or keep guns out of the hands of criminals.

But here's another angle that Justin Trudeau likely hasn't considered at all.

These Liberal gun bans are yet another blow against the economy.

There are over 4500 small and medium-size businesses that sell firearms, and employ over 40,000 people across the country.

These businesses will now be stuck with large amounts of inventory that is suddenly illegal for them to sell or export. That includes ammunition that was used at completely legal gun ranges.

Businesses that cannot absorb these losses will need to cut jobs or shut down completely.

Remember when Justin Trudeau said that as Prime Minister he would stand up for jobs? That was his talking point when it came to why he was trying to interfere with the prosecution of SNC Lavalin.

The same concern doesn't seem to be there it comes to oil and gas jobs, and now anyone who makes a living selling firearms.

I have promised to review all of Canada's gun laws, to make sure they're actually helping protect the public from criminal activity. These bans will be repealed, and we will adopt a common sense approach to all other gun laws.

I believe in cracking down hard on smuggled firearms.

I believe in empowering police forces to keep guns out of the hands of criminals.

I want to lead a government that respects legal gun owners in Canada, instead of one that treats gun owners with contempt and disrespect.

I promise to bring common sense back to Canada’s approach to firearms and review our firearms legislation to make it clear, practical and purposeful instead of adding more legislation to our already confusing laws.

Help me fight for law-abiding gun owners across Canada by making a donation today.

Together we can create a Canada lead with courage, compassion and common sense.

Sincerely,

Leslyn Lewis
Wooow...this is a one very impressive reply...she’s won my heart for sure now !!

I posted this in another thread earlier. Sorry if it comes across as defeatist but it is how I see things right now.

I think both Lewis and O'Toole are very vulnerable to attacks in an election campaign on social issues. The next CPC leader absolutely has to appeal to centrist swing voters to have any hope at all of forming government. Support of the CPC base isn't enough. It's just simple mathematics.

As much as I am not a fan of his I think McKay is the most electable of a weak field and even his chances are marginal. I really, really hope I am wrong but looking at the CPC leadership race today I see a good chance of a Trudeau majority after the next election if the political landscape remains as it is today.

If Lewis could lose the religion/abortion albatross I think she could be a viable challenger to Trudeau. Otherwise it will be Scheer all over again without the SNC Lavalin/blackface stuff to make it even close.

I understand that you run to the base in a leadership race and then move to the center for a general election but interviews and policy positions from today will come back to haunt her in an election, especially with our Liberal friendly press. The same would be true for O'Toole. Like it or not, most Canadian voters simply do not want a "True Blue Conservative", at least not on social issues.

I got a 5 year membership last year. Worked as assistance office manager during the last election which returned our CPC MP to Ottawa by a wide margin. This is a minority government. It is likely to fall in the next 24 months... regardless of CV19.

MacKay, warts and all, is the only electable candidate, the only one with a remote chance of becoming PM. National name recognition, looks good on camera, experienced at high level of government. None of the other candidates have any of that.

Lewis, being socially conservative - anti abortion, would allow or contest anti conversion thereapy? in this day and age, are you ####ing crazy to even have her in the race? That's an easy low seat count loss. Just the reality of the day, but that seems to carry no traction with a lot around here.

I am am not a social conservative, but I am voting for Lewis.

edit: I like O'Toole better than McKay but he does look a lot like Ford and that will be a problem for a lot of centrists. People are biased by looks and appearance.

FYI I voted for Ford and he has been abused sorely by the media and leftists, but it is what it is.

I am also going to be 100% a one issue voter now. Gun Rights are my only concern.
