CQ311-- Norinco, should I do it?

i just went to lever arms in vancouver
the one with old ugly stock 20inch barrel is 500 dollars
they have another one with m4 style stock, for 1450, same price they are asking for a type 97A,
the one with the m4 stock, has a big round piece covering the front part of the barrel all the way to the muzzle, it is as fat as the handguard...
any idea what that is or for?
haha, at first i thought its a grenade launcher, just like in the picture above, of cuz its not.. .^^

its a non functioning suppressor.strictly for looks.that one was done up by dlask, however I was in there today and it has been sold. Those m311 are great for the price, despite the ugly finsh and handguard

Yep sorry I was just in there today stocking up on the 7.62 x39 and it is gone. Also there is only about a dozen cases of that ammo left so anyone who needs some oughtta move fast

i'm just wondering r u referring to that one that look better built than the cq311, and it has a tac stock ? u know instead of the ugly one on the 311
Do you THINK they're talking about the M4 lookalike nork but not the old CQ311?
It's been a while, so I don't remember all details and specifics,
but the one I reffer to had:
-receiver black annodized and teflon coated,
-flat top and dettachable carry handle,
-what some people in here reffer to as "FA bolt" (in fact carrier),
-CAR stock 5 positions,
-14.5" barrel, chrome-lined, and I think 1:9 twist IIRC,

and the biggest difference from previous models
is that the gun is IMPERIAL, NOT METRIC.

I don't know how the accuracy is,
I fired only 30 rnds in the bullet trap to see if there were any malfunctions.

It's sold? I was thinking about going to Lever Arms and checking it out.

here it is

the CQ311 is OK. other than feeling alittle dirty when you are at the range with Brand name AR's around, they are fine. if you need the instant gratification of an AR now, get it. brand name used ones sell for $1200-1600. an old SP1 (what the Norinco is cloned off of) sell for $900-1100.

remember, the guns are from the 80's. so they've had trouble trying to flog them for 20 years. your resale will be the same.

Sorry guys, but I bought the last $500 CQ311. For that price how could I say no? Now if anyone can find me some cheap .223 in BC they've made a new best friend.

Last Lever 311? The $500 CQs were DARK.

Well, Lever's website is showing $500 for a CQ. Not to mention NP22s (Norc P226) for $299 and a bunch of other guns and ammo for some pretty low Christmas prices.

I had a CQ, decorated it to look like and old school M16 and shot the hell out of it. When I knew I was hooked on the black guns, I sold it and built a C8 lookalike. For what I paid, I thought it was an ideal starter. Had it not been my cup of tea, I wouldn't have been out a whole lot of money. Yes, it's ugly as hell but it goes bang when you want it to.

Well $500 is really good. All sold out I guess.

I guess i was one of the lucky ones to get my order in for a $500 black rifle
before they sold out . a nice christmas present for me . with the bonus of another restricted to piss off a liberal .
I had been toying with the idea of going "black" for a while and the cq311
i figured was the way to start on a budget . but even Used ones were over $650 . then lever came up with the $500 new . i just couldnt resist
so a couple of dancing bananas for Lever,:dancingbanana::dancingbanana::rockOn::ar15:
