CQB 7 Video

JRW: A great video, thanks for doing all this effort. Glad as heck that your family is on board for the CQB fun. Now, lemme guess what family members are getting for Christmas!

Love that SKS action! Well done there, Kommisar! I'm impressed!

Now here's a message for the other PRA's... (Provincial Rifle Associations).... :D

Many of you have been asking me what it takes to organize a shoot like this. As you can see by the video;

1) Ranges are inside 35 yards to 10 yards
2) Targetry are fig 11's or you can always improvise something very similar, try not to create a lot of work for yourselves
3) Different colours of masonry line to delineate the yardage(s)
4) Lots of patches because the shooters keep improving
5) Course of fire? We can help you get organized, better yet I can put you through the master himself (Timk, you heard and saw him explain the target marking)
6) Scoring sheets, I can help you here!

I'll tell you right now, the ORA membership has gone up like mad because the Service Rifle Program (Timk deserves all the credit) is responding to the needs of the black rifle community around the Moronto, Bantario region! It's just that simple! :D

Timk is run off his feet meeting these demands and he's busier than a one armed paper hanger!

Anyways... if you wanna develop something like this for your club we can (kinda) get you started. Frankly, I would love to see it happen at other gun clubs, just a few roadblocks along the way, but trust me; Timk designed things to be near effortless and K.I.S.S. with respect to your local resources. You can only be as innovative as your own creativity.

Bring on the discussion? PM me and we'll YAK! :)

Barney

Already ordered vests and pouches for both of them from OpsGear. They are both going to join the ORA. My daughter wants to try the long range events. Brent is going into medical school, so his time may not be as much. My other son and his soon to be bride are both going for their restricteds, and want to participate next season.

I'm hoping to set up a CQB at the EESA next season.

We have to keep up with the Bad Scary moniker:D

Could you tell me how this works? Order of events per se? I feel like I am missing something.

Awesome footage though. Loved that sks reload. This is also the video that made me want a CZ-858.

I have an idea of doing something like this but instead of pistol transition a shotgun portion, with maybe 3 targets. (no pistol cause no RPAL and no range membership.)

Here is the course of fire.

4 matches

#1: 35yds, in 4 secs, one left one right for 10 rounds
35yds in 15 sec, 5 left 5 right
35yds, advance to 25yds, 2 left 2 right for 20 rounds rifle, then 3 left 3 right pistol in 20 sec

#2: 35yrds advance 5 yrds each move to 10yrds. Each move 2 left 2 right total 20 rounds, 10 seconds each move.

#3: same as #1 but start from 25yrd line down to 15yrds

#4: 25yrd, walk and shoot to 15yrd, 5 left 5 right 10 total in 15 sec
15yrd run to 10 yrd, 5 left 5 right rifle, 5 left 5 right pistol 30sec

Anyone with the EESA can contact me as I'm planning to introduce this next season, with some changes to the CoF.

Replace #3 with the following:

#3: Need 1x4rnd mag, 4x5rnd mag, 1x6rnd pistol. From 35yrds, load 4rnd mag and chamber round, switch to 5rnd mag (6 rounds ready). On whistle drop to one knee, 3 left 3 right, 5 seconds. Rechamber for 6 rounds. On whistle advance 5 yards, drop to one knee, 3 left 3 right. 10 seconds. Cycle this CoF to the 15yrd line. At 15 yrd, on whistle advance to 10yrd, drop to one knee, with pistol 3 left 3 right. All advances 10 seconds.

Looks like friday is going to be a nice day, my daughter and I are going to the range to practice this CoF.

Here is the course of fire.....

#1:.....35yds, advance to 25yds, 2 left 2 right for 20 rounds rifle, then 3 left 3 right pistol in 20 sec.....

Just to clarify - 20 seconds total for a 10y advance, followed by 20 rounds rifle fire and 6 rounds pistol?

I havnt fully decide on the times yet. But here is what I envision.

35yrds from standing, load one in chamber, load 5 rnd mag. On whistle, drop to one knee, 3 shots left (2 chest, 1 head) 3 right (same) 5 secs?

from 35, load one in chamber, load 5 rnd mag, on whistle run to 30yrd, drop to one knee, 3 shots left (2 chest, 1 head) 3 right (same) 10 secs?

from 30, load one in chamber, load 5 rnd mag, on whistle run to 25yrd, drop to one knee, 3 shots left (2 chest, 1 head) 3 right (same) 10 secs?

from 25, load one in chamber, load 5 rnd mag, on whistle run to 20yrd, drop to one knee, 3 shots left (2 chest, 1 head) 3 right (same) 10 secs?

from 20, on whistle run to 15yrd, drop to one knee, pull out pistol 3 shots left (2 chest, 1 head) 3 right (same) 10 secs?

24 rnds rifle, 6 pistol total.

EDIT: I just realized you were refering to the current CoF. Its 5 yard advances 4 rounds each. At the end it is rifle and pistol.

So, 20 seconds for each stage of advance and fire?
Start at 35y, on the signal advance to 30y, fire 4 rounds rifle; repeat to 25y, 4 rounds rifle; repeat to 20y, 4 rounds rifle; repeat to 15y, 4 rounds rifle; repeat to 10y, four rounds rifle, transition to pistol, 6 rounds.

Yes.

Some gaming going there eh? Noticed the mag change after 4 rounds on the VZs so you didn't have to charge it after the mag change. Not my cup of tea but to each their own.
