Hey guys,

I'm interested in getting into some CQB competition or some kind of league around central Alberta. It's something I've always wanted to do, I see so many pictures around here of such events and it looks like tons of fun.

I was hoping to find something thats ongoing throughout the summer to keep me busy. I will also consider some training courses just to get out but again, I prefer something consistent. The problem with training courses is there so damn expensive and it's usually a one shot deal.

I'm just looking for something to regularly compete in, get out, use my tools, get some fresh air, and have some fun. I'm a total noob to this stuff so any insight and advice would be greatly appreciated. I was really hoping I could meet up with one of you guys and you could walk me through a match, kinda take me under your wing so to speak.

Thanks

They shoot once a month. Indoors at Okotoks in the winter and outdoors at the MVMA range west of Olds in the summer.

Hope this helps.

We'll be running CQB, 100-500, and tac rifle this year. You can run the same gear in the first two and shoot more often. We should have the schedule up soon, and offer walk backs on off match days to familiarize new(to the course of fire) shooters snf hrlp matches run smoothly.

Does it matter if I dont wanna do shotgun? Can I compete with just pistol and AR CQB?

We don't really do shotgun competitively, though there is a place that you can.

We shoot match 1-12 Service Rifle as described here:

CQB which is an adapted version of what is shot in Ontario, and Tac rifle, which is modelled after what is run in BC.

Each of the 3 competition types has its own match date, and there is no requirement to shoot more then one type, though members are encouraged to come out and run what they have in each style.

3 Gun/ Multi Gun Competition

Wild Rose Action Shooters, is your answer for the 3 Gun/ Multi Gun shooting action you want, we shoot rifle, pistol, shotgun, and this year long gun. Our club shoots at Spruce Grove Gun Club, we normally shoot 9 stages on a Saturday and 7 on a typical Sunday. Our first match will be in April and run through till Nov, the schedule will hopefully be out within the next few weeks. If you have any questions please PM.

Regards,
Jarrit
