CQB Clinic at Range Burlington - Any interest?

Unless the shooter does not get all their rounds off, then the mag HAS to be dropped first following normal procedures. My advice is to have an extra mag your back pocket that you insert to drop the hammer/striker, then remove and holster. I've seen this as IPSC matches.

That works for me. I've got 5 mags for my M&P9 and can carry 3 on my chest, so I think I'm good to go. I am still surprised by how easy it is to fumble, drop and not be able to seat a mag properly under stress; practice makes perfect. I can't imagine what it's like to do this under actual fire and not just peer pressure!

We didn't do Match 3 at Burlington due to the modified prone position. Can someone confirm if Match 3T is done standing or is it a transition from standing to modified prone after moving forward?

Looks like the CQB bug has stuck with me, I'm going to the clinic on Mar 30 at CF Borden (along with my son). Anyone else from the BRRC clinic going? I should have a DA 556 from the recent sale to try out in place of the T97.

I have registered for all of the matches other than CQBm4 & 5. I have also registered for Hungry's clinic in Petawawa in June!

I'm guessing there's a VERY good chance of it being wet and cold... time to dress like the canadian artic rangers lol

Over the last two years Ive learned my lesson with the ORA.

Aside from investing in ammo, buy proper rain/weather gear.

You don't need the higher end technical gear, but you do get what you pay for.

I'm hosting an M1 clinic at BRRC that day with Hungry, but I do intend to get out for a few matches this year. Family obligations have kept me away for the past few years. Snapshot is probably up for a couple, maybe we can set up some carpooling?

I won't be at the Borden clinics, but I will be at most of the Borden matches. I registered for Hungry's clinic in June at CFB Petawawa, as it is a little closer to home for me. No need to pay me back for anything, I was just glad to be able to help out with the loan of a pistol. I loaned it out last weekend on an RSO course too. lol

I'm predicting a warm sunny day (damn we really deserve it) but just in case I scored a set of the British Goretex camo pants on CGN that Hungry showed us, but couldn't find the jacket locally so had to pay a bit more on FleaBay and get it direct from the UK.

If your budget is tight, go for the old school (woodland or 3 color desert) ECWCS being sold for under $50 apiece on Ebay. That's what I've done in the past. Now my wife asked me to start wearing solid colours and she tossed me some $ for the budget. Black Goretex will work for me!

As Skeetgunner mentioned, I'm back in BRRC for 30 March for an M1 Garand clinic and we will RE-Barrel in the parking lot! I have the vise for this operation!
