Just got back from day 1 of the above event. I have to say all the Black Rifle owners should at least try this. Hungry and TimK put on on hell of a clinic. Lots of information, lots of training, and the best part LOTS OF TRIGGER TIME!! to apply the skills that they are preaching.

I am sure all the other wll agree with me. And there is still another day to go!! :dancingbanana::dancingbanana::D

We will see everyone tommorow morning at 07:30!! Thanks Hungry and TimK for a great day!

Post your Pics and thoughts here!!!!!

I am off to do my homework now. :D

Yes, great day indeed! A lot to learn, but lots of trigger time to learn it. Tomorrow will be a lot of fun, especially if the Advil works it's magic.... damn these old knees!

Let's hope the snow and rain keep to a minimum, however Dom is there so it will most likely precipitate again!

Oh, and don't forget to lubricate! :D

Wish I could have made it... :( Hungry and TimK's matches and clinics are always a blast.

Please take lots of pictures and some videos if you can. :D

LOL. Nothing like snow squalls to break in the CQB year.

Any chance of a Calgary clinic?

Besides the obvious (rifle, ammo) what gear is needed for such a clinic?

You will need to bring :
- a lunch, liquids, snacks
- a pen
- reliable carbine / rifle
- gun oil, CLP etc
- scope, iron, laser, aimpoint, BUIS or some kind of sight system
- any other attachment you want to add to your carbine, foregrip, light system etc.
- min of 5 mags, 8 would be good for carbine / rifle
- mag clips / couplers are allowed, not recommended though
- Ammo 200 rifle rds, 50 pistol rds for the day, plus spares
- tac vest or webbing or mag pouches
- pistol with holster, Note: if you have no pistol just use your carbine.
- 4 pistol mags and pouches.
- protective eye wear

This Clinic Rocks! Starts out with the basics, into gear, technique and builds in a healthy pace.
Lots of rounds downrange and great instruction from Pat, Tim and Hungry. Exellent participation/encouragment from fellow attendees who helped a CQB/ORA nubie out.
This is shooting at its best, an active learning, thinking and progressively challenging with good mates and great instructors.
Just wish that the forces would stop playing with the Borden weather machine.
Can't wait till tomorrow!

What an amazing time! My SD card crapped out. So no Pics from this guy.

Thanks again to PH Racing, Hungry and TimK, for all the help and instruction. Thanks to everyone who helped unload my truck!

It's nice to meet like minded people. And hear the auto bursts over lunch.

See everyone May 8th. I am hooked now.

I would kill for some CQB classes. Vancouver Island gets screwed.

I'm with you dude, I'd love to go too. Maybe something will show up on the island this summer, lets hope! I don't own an AR yet though because I haven't had the cash to spend on it, but I hope to soon.

It turned out to be a better day than yesterday. mOre guys came prepared to face the elements with toque's and more layers. As the day progressed and got hotter the layers came off and the shooting never stopped.

Great group of guys of like mind learning a new sport for many including myself.
Tips I learned
1. Dry firing is key to improving the P A S T - positioning, alignment, sight picture and trigger time
2. Sight picture sight picture sight picture
3. Even the most beautiful expensive safe queens crap out and the best equipment is reliable equipment.
4. get out and practice and compete. You'll learn a ton from your mistakes and see the improvements
