CQB in BC now!!

Anybody have tips on flipping the mags? I should have just dropped, and grabbed a fresh one.

I think you have it figured out. Drop and grab. Regardless of the method you use, practice at home. No need to go to the range. I do it in my man cave and put a sofa pillow under my feet so my mags don't bang on the floor (hardwood does not like repeated mag drops, mags don't like hardwood).

Using an AR or similar, you should be able to get down approaching 3 seconds to drop empty, insert full, close bolt and fire an aimed shot. Well, I used to be able to do it that fast I think.
Not sure if you can do it as fast with a bullpup or even an 858 but practice will make you as fast as you can be with your equipment. Also a good way to test your equipment to see if you have hangups that can be solved through adjustment.

Did anyone make a list of all the various types of guns?
Besides the ubiquitous AR, of course...

I recall seeing:
T97
Swiss arms shorty
SKS
XCR-L
Even an M-14

I watched the short video. The shooter was starting with rifle at the "ready" position. IS that a requirement? In Ontario we can start in the aim, for CQB.

Starting in the aim is worth about 2 seconds, if allowed.

I think most guys were starting in the "high ready". Sure, it takes an extra second or two, but it prevents tunnel vision and its a good practice to get used to quickly acquire your appropriate target.

I AM READY! I have my new CQB rifle for the next match in BC:

This is noob friendly actually. The way its set up you don't need a black badge or any of that other crap. Your holster is simply a storage container for your pistol which, while in the holster, never has a round up the spout. You need a serviceable rifle and pistol. A sling for the rifle and a pistol holster with at least one level of retention, 5 rifle mags, 2 pistol mags, ammo and a good attitude. Come on out and try it!

Magazine holders are generally known as mag pouches. Swing by DS Tactical and tell them what you plan on doing. They should set you up.

I'm a big fan of battle belts and chest rig but YMMV.
