Hello,

I know some folks who apparently do CQB at Borden, and I'm curious. Mostly, I'm surprised that the Military and/or Police don't get a little freaked out at civvies doing this sort of thing. I'm wondering how one becomes involved with this (I think I can do CQB through ORA), what the regulations are, that sort of thing.

Any reading material recommendations would be appreciated.

see service rifle forum below. really easy to get started. you just need a rilfe +5mags and a sling and a pistol +2mags and a holster and some way of carrying all mags on your person (Vest, best, etc). Other than that just sign up, show up and shoot.

Well if it helps you perception, there are military and police there shooting alongside civilians....it shouldn't matter because these are the shooters police shouldn't be worrying about....they are law abiding persons having fun

Why should they be worried its the ashat left wing politicians that want to take a way your guns

some may laugh, but it has been done and is the cheapest method of shooting going for you. Just make sure the rifle and handgun are reliable and the ammo is good....Tim HATES waiting for the stuck reloads to be cleared from the rifles when the line is going, well not just Tim, the others who are waiting hate it too. Have at it.

You seem to be uber concerned about the police and military

Me and the boys in blue have had our disagreements in the past, lol. But let's not disrupt this thread with more of this kind of silliness; I'm trying to turn over a new leaf here. Let's stay on topic.

The pistol and 2 mags isn't an issue, but 5 mags for the rifle at what capacity? Or is it about having 5 mags so you have to drop & pop them in order to present more of a challenge? Or is this where I get told to stfu and go read a FAQ? :)

5 mags at 5 rounds a piece for rifle. You're not allowed to load more then 5 even if you have something like lar mags as they have mandatory mag changes/reloads in the course of fire, so you have to change mags after 5 rounds or you're cheating. You can shoot with a 22, but if im not mistaken you wont be scored with the rest of the people shooting.

You guys seem to have nailed all the answers. OP, check out the ORA sticky on the Service Rifle forum. If you have questions beyond that send me a PM. I can also put you in touch with the match director to get your name on a waiting list for a match (yeah, they are filled already but the waiting list usually is a good bet).
