CQB thread

.....Eventually, I was hoping that maybe, eventually, we could have provincial competitions. EESA sends a team to Borden to take on the ORA team.

???
Isn't the ORA CQB Provincial Championship scheduled for October 13th at Langemark Range?
Couldn't EESA or any other club send a team?

I'm sure they could, anyone can go to that, except it is now full! :D The scoring is individual, not team.

I was thinking more of a team vs team match. Points added by team.

That's just a simple math situation. Just have Tim add a team award category and then add team scores up.

Sure. Any group of - pick a number - entrants could declare themselves to be a team. Just group the individual results to generate a team aggregate.
Surely more range space could be available for more entries.

I have a novel idea, why don't all the self appointed match directors run this by the actual match director, first.
Just one of those wild thoughts that i have from time to time...

Kids = under 40. Wahooo! I still qualify, for a least another year.

As for the self appointed match directors.....what Flecker said.

Especially those who don't even participate in ORA CQB. I don't think reading about CQB on the internet qualifies readers to make suggestions on how it should be run. Just my 2 cents.

I agree, except having bunch of untrained shooters on my range.
I wonder how your BOD will react if you will tell them that you want IPSC in your club?
Storm is in charge in charge of one of the biggest clubs in Canada and if he brings something to his club he most likely will endorse it, however it is hard to do it, when some of the clips show unsafe gun handling practices.

Are visitors welcome to come and watch ? if so, I'm sure some of us would come out to check it out and see what's it's all about and learn what it takes to be involved and about rules & such.
and is there a website for this organization to view as well ?
and then we can re-think and re-give our 2cents.

Has anyone even asked the director/owner of this match if he wants his match brought to other venues or if he is willing to provide the materials and support to do so? Might be a good starting point...

I do not really care about the ins and outs of CQB with respect to rules and regs of the game.

Where I do draw the line is Safety.

With that regard my postion as Club President and Range Operator is quite clear.

The fundamentals of firearm safety is clear and omnipresent.
