Just ran up to Calgary today to buy a Surefire M910 for my CQB. The thing now weighs a ton, but at least I'll be ready for action if the lights go out :D

What optic is that too?

Things didn't work out with the sale, and I decided to keep it (for now). Got the light from TSE for $540-something. The scope is an Elcan Specter DR.

suprised somebody like you who buys the best, would buy an Elcan:D

I can't understand why everyone is down on the Elcan. I love this scope, and it seems that the same goes for others who own it. Was there some Elcan quality issues in the past that have scarred the name? In any case, I like it..... amazing glass, great reticle, and the ability to switch from 1x to 4x with the flick of a lever.

Very nice rig. Big bucks for that setup. The Specter has a BDC reticle, correct? If so, what barrel length is it made for? It's not likely to work with the abbreviated barrel on a CQB right?

Hmmmm.... that is a good question. Yes, in addition to a red dot, it has an illuminated BDC reticle (just depends which way you turn the dial as to which reticle you get, and how bright). Not sure about the barrel length issue..... I'll have to read the manual.

The elcan dr is made for a 16 inch ar barrel, but I have had great success with it on my 20 inch swiss arms 1/10. And, no, I have not lost zero yet, due to the switching back and forth between 1x-4x

I think you have to put rounds down range between intervals of switching back and forth before you see issues of loosing zero.....:D

DOH.... The grip and the light are one.... That's what happens when you look at stuff in the middle of the night.... Thanks...
