Thanks to the 19 shooters that made it out on short notice to the first ORA CQB match of 2019! Special thanks to Steve and Dave for running the range. Thanks to Greg for doing the stats. Aside from the wind, I don't think we could have had a much better day. Really nice to see a couple of new faces, as well as lots of the regulars.

Not sure but I think I saw a Kestrel wind meter go flying past me, there might have even been a person attached to it. That was the most wind I've ever seen at Borden.

Congratulations to all of you that made it out for the first match and especially the new shooters. No matter where you placed in the scoring list you are all winners. Thanks to the range staff Dave and Greg, and Andrew for all of his hard work in keeping us running.

other than the wind, it was a perfect day for shooting. Actually, from a shooting point of view, the wind just added to the challenge and the experience.

I checked on why some of the usuals were not at our first CQB shoot of the season. Their wives had them scheduled for origami classes, or art appreciation class or a wine tasting.

Thanks to Steve, Dave, Andrew and the crew to make this shoot happen.

For those of you who managed to out-shoot this semi-crippled and half blind 75-year-old - Well Done!

For those who didn't........

That wind definitely added a bit of fun to the challenge. Get on target and see your sight start drifting because your arm is acting like a sail. Lol. Had my target RIP itself off the board and run over the berm as well. Adios ya scurvy dog. Thanks to Steve, Dave , Andrew and Greg for helping run the day

Running targets, we'll add that to Match 5

If you want to shoot moving targets, bring your AR to the ORA Sporting Rifle shoots. We shoot Movers at 100, 200 and 300 yardds. And Deliberate and Snap, too.

We shoot on Amiens Range.

I can’t wait till one of those Sporting Rifle events to take my AR to 300yards. Last year i shot with my SKS with iron sites and it was not very impressive :)

Thanks to everyone who came out, Greg for Stats and Steve for RSOing. A fun start to the season.

The AR is definitely a better choice. :) I shot my stock 10-22 w. a 1980s .22 scope. It was fun. At 300, most of them hit the berm.
