went to try my rifle sunday with my new boyd's stock.
i was disapointed in the accuracy. this rifle ( savage 16) easily groups moa with the original plastic stock and this load
i was getting fliers that brought the groups to 2.5 to 3''

when i got back home i removed the stock and noticed the stock was cracked here

i am wondering if this is what cause my accuracy problem?
and if pillar bedding would repair the stock?

looks like i tightened the action screw to much. i'm used to rifles with pillar, when tightening this it always felt mushy

Phone them up and see what they have to say, can't hurt. If they won't replace it since you worked on it, then some acraglass (liquid not gel) injected into the crack with a syringe would fix the problem, just make sure to clean the area completely to get ay residual oils or waxes out and you should be good to go. Also drill out the holes for the action screws a bit bigger to make sure they're not the cause of the cracks.

I would first spread the crack a bit more, work glue into it, lightly clamp it together, not squeezing all the glue out. When the glue has dried in an hour, drill and install a brass cross bolt as Remington does on ADL and BDL stocks. It should go through the wood close to the screw hole. I use 1/8 inch brass rod and thread it through a 6 x 32 die. Squeeze glue in the hole and thread it through with a drill slowly so it doesn't heat up and dry the glue while doing it. Then clip off and file and polish flush with the stock.

Then pillar bed stress free and after bedding drill the screws holes slightly larger to give the screws clearance.

Your accuracy problem is probably the bedding. Just because one puts glass bedding compound in the stock does not automatically make it correct. It has to be done stress free.
