Cracked forend

Have a Franchi under and over with a cracked forend,what the cause of this?
Is a replacement available and where?

I think you need to state what model it is and gauge.
As far as why, it could be a number of things. It could be from using heavy loads or not having the forend tight or a poor or dry piece of wood to maybe an inherent problem with a certain model or a combination of said reasons.

Interesting, I have seen Rugers with cracked fore ends but not a Franchi yet.

That is not a model, that is the name of the manufacturer. Is the gun a semi auto, over/under or side by side? I suspect that if that is all you know of the gun, it is likely a 48AL semi auto. This gun is a long recoil action semi, and forestock cracks were common on on 12g guns because many people shot heavy loads out of the gun with the friction ring set on the light load setting. This caused the barrel to recoil hard into the receiver and caused cracks in both front and rear stocks. If the walnut stocks were allowed to dry out, cracking could happen fairly easy

Some of the Franchi O/U's do not have model names on them.
It's likely a field grade Falconet or similar.
Parts will be hard to find, plan to repair it yourself.

Wood cracks over time. Fix it. No big deal unless it is some rare show piece that needs to be perfect
I just did one on an old mossy for a guy that was in two pieces. Some good outdoor wood glue and a fiberglass mat/ resin backer and all was good to go
