Scope is a Vortex Viper HS-T 4-16x44. Its in the scope somewhere, not on the outer lenses. Crack or fuzz?

Looks like it in the log on the railing.... ;)

Is that picture what you're actually seeing through the scope or is it just an off angle picture?. If that's what you're actually seeing, then yikes!

Edit:
Ah, I see it now @ 7:30.

Looks like a fiber at about 7:30. Won't do any harm. Distracting, though, shouldn't be there.
If it bothers you, contact Vortex.

Yeah it kind of is distracting. I was out shooting. Came back from my targets, got ready to shoot & was like wtf?

I was having issues with it being foggy at full 16x power. Might be time to send it back. Don't think I will buy vortex again. Only have maybe 2-3 box's through the gun.

It could have been like that out of the box, it happens. That's why folks should always wash their hands after going to the bathroom .

I would say Its some kind of fibre on the other side of reticle glass the that came in during manufacture, cracks are usually in straight lines and a hair would be a lot bigger even a small speck of dust is visible on the reticle glass. I would contact vortex as it could only happen during manufacturing.

I could be wrong. but I thought vortex had a pretty solid warranty. I'd contact them.

Junk scopes suck I took a 2.5-10 hawke scope back to wolverine supplies in red deer yesterday, there over the counter warranty has changed and I had to send it in and wait to see if they will replace it, 350$ I wish I would have put towards a better optic to start with.

Looks like a piece of dust or debris in the scope. Send it off to Vortex and they'll look after you.

A couple of my Leupolds have dust specs in them. Not quite as big as this one but I bet there's 20-40 flecks in each scope.

Buying a Vortex is like buying a house on a flood plain, it's only a matter of time before something goes wrong.

That's why so many of us repeat the phrase "Only a rich man can afford cheap optics". It's what we used to call a "What have you learned moment".
