Crap - missed out on a local lion hunt

...and then they shot an escaped lion...just finishing my thought.
I don't disagree that they can be excellent facilities that really are well thought out. Preserves are a better environment for the animals.

I don't disagree with the preserve thing, but, there are a few issues: some species, such as lions, would not survive in a Canadian preserve. There is also the issue that a preserve uses up a lot of real estate, which is expensive, and finally, they don't generate enough money to be privately viable. Unfortunately, I think zoos are a necessary evil.
