my super beautiful m14, I had just finished with the latest small improvement was the victim of a idiot, I, who forgot a bore sighter in the barrel before shooting

the muzzle break flew on 50 m
the barrel is cracked on the inside and on the end to swell

the worst is that just before it happened I had time to shot two shots with the load 155gr Sierra Palma match king and 41.5 h4895, I had arranged for participation in 1.5moa CHALLENGE
and I was below 1 'at 100m when the 3rd and 4th shots are out west and I've realized that the mount was improperly installed

While this may to avoid an incident to someone else

I would advise to throw all sighter bore that plug into the barrel
and replace them by those who are in the form of a ball
at least we can not chambered a bullet if forgetfulness

distraction is not necessarily predictable

Glad to hear you're okay! Sorry for your mishap. At least the damage is limited to the barrel.

There was a guy who left a cleaning rod in his Savage 338 Lapua once and it blew the whole gun apart, including the receiver.

I think I was lucky that it was a semi auto
the gas have been capable of normally come out on gas system
the gun functioned normally, the case was ejected normally, which allowed the gas to escape from this side too

That really sucks man, my sympathies. On the bright side you can always re-build a gun, not so much with limbs and eyeballs. Glad you're ok.

Barrel or parts can always be replaced. Don't look back and you should start shopping for your replacement barrel.

Do you think anything else is damaged? If it's just the brake & barrel, and you are unharmed, I consider you blessed.
Of course, it's not me shelling out $ for those expensive items, sorry to make light of that fact!
