Crappy end to my deer season - break in up Chilliwack Lake Road

Seems the Lac Le Jeune area has the same relatives as down south.
Time to gather a posse` and set up a stake'n bait.
Hmmm...........old school justice?

It might be of value to them if they checked the address on the insurance papers and now they think they have the keys to the house.

I figure they would have stolen the insurance papers if that was their plan. Besides that, none of the keys look anything like a house key, they're all too small. I take my car key and house key with me when I leave the car for that very reason though.

Make a copy of your original insurance papers etc and black out your addy. Keep the copies in the vehicle. Be careful with garage door openers as well.

Might be those skids living in the school bus just before where you parked, last time I was out that way they had a rat bagged Chevy with a bunch of crackhead stuff in the back. Sucks that happened if I leave my truck for a day or two in some areas I put a trail cam up but in all reality if scum want what you got their gonna do whatever they can to take it.

Sad state, coward thieves are everywhere.. Property is Property, good thing you did not get ambushed at night.
Darn lousy way to end a hunt, glad you are safe..

Chilliwack Lake has got bad for break ins. Too many sh!trats in town have figured out the hikers make easy prey...

Exactly, Chilliwack is turning into a #### hole. If it ain't nailed down, it will get stolen. Never leave keys or any type of valuables in your vehicles.

Any length of time now that I leave my truck unattended in the bush, I attach a trail cam to a nearby tree and I put a note on the window that the truck is being monitored. It’s unfortunate that this is how things are now......

Great idea.....very sad state we are in it seems.....really depressing...

Today we learned that one of our strollers was stolen last night. Had a big cable lock through the wheels and frame but it was snipped. My fiancé asked me about baiting thieves. I know I’m not supposed to but I’m thinking about it more and more every day.

Chiliwack is getting known for druggies.

I have had a couple break ins and few acts of vandalism over the years to my car (not Chiliwack). In Canada, according to my corrections buddy, no one does time for property crimes. One time they took my gym bag and left the belt, bag and crap all over the underground .... not worth the $300 deductible for the window. I couldn’t allow myself to keep the water bottle after I found it; I just imagined the thought of some druggie putting it to their lips and into the trash it went.

Liberals told me it was my fault for locking the doors or else they wouldn’t have broken the window.

Exactly.

The cops should be setting up bait cars in areas like that. Should be, but never will.

Why wouldn’t they? Bait cars are placed in high crime areas as indicated by statistics, hopefully the op reported the incident to the police.

Another thing don't leave anything visible inside the vehicle. Store it all in the trunk or a locked box in back. If the crooks see a duffle bag they will want it. Or visible coins in an ashtray. Leave a shell on your dash, a big one like 338 or similar. Or leave a sign that says look up and wave to me, I'm watching you through my scope.

Sorry to hear that. I am always worried when I park my truck and start hunting. I've been up a cut block and watched people try my door handle and look in all the windows.
