Crappy end to my deer season - break in up Chilliwack Lake Road

And if the cops believes the perps sob story of abuse at your hands you'll be the one getting charged and/or civilly sued by the person who robbed you.
In Canada I deal with petty theft myself and keep the cops out of it.
Too many instances up here where the perps get the benefit of the doubt over the victims.

Which is why we handed him over without a scratch on him. I would never violate a law of our great nation.

I've had 2 vehicles busted into over the years.

The first was back in 82, I had a CJ-5 rag top that had the stereo pushed out of it twice in on month. I had enough of the BS, we were just starting out and didn't have a pot to piss in nor a window to throw it out of and couldn't afford to keep replacing stereos.
I duct taped a row of single sided razor blades to the back of the stereo. A few days later I came out to a blood trail from my jeep across the driveway and down the block. Never had any trouble after that. I imagine his hand never worked properly enough for him to continue in his chosen carreer.

Fast forward to 91 and my Ex and I were in town for dinner with my pick up and my Elk hound in the back.
After dinner we decided to take a walk around town with the dog for an hour. When we were headed back to where the truck was parked, I could see the rear slider was open and a couple of shadows moving around in the cab.
Before I could even say anything to the Ex, the dog saw it as well. In a blink she covered the 200 yards and launched herself through the rear slider.

We both ran up as fast as we could, all we could see and hear was screaming and and a real sh^t storm in the cab.
It turned out to be 2 teen age girls trying a little B&E. We had to call the cops and an ambulance. both girls were pretty chewed up.
I elected not to press any charges and the cops agreed that they probably wouldn't try it again.
The parents of one of the girls tried to sue but it never made it to court.

You’re lucky.
Canadian cops don’t usually like anyone abusing ‘their’ criminals.
It’s that weird stockholm syndromish thingy Canadians have with the bad boys that I could never for the life of me rationalize but it’s effect is undeniable.
Never used to think that way but when a man can get charged for defending his home against a gang of fire bombers other ‘go out on a limb’ explanations are necessary.

What would you know about Canadian cops? Picking up a goof who has just received a little civilian justice is a gimme. Lots of options to pursue. Stick to the OP.

Those are both AWESOME stories. I wish I had something similar to share...
