Crazy deal, you can buy a PSA M4A1 with Aimpoint Pro for $999 in the US, lucky Americans. That's cheaper than the Norinco M4 in Canada.

If anyone wants a PSA I am able to get the .223 wylde uppers. Send me a PM if anyone here is interested, I'm not looking to make any money I just have room left on a export permit for one I got for myself so if you want one I can bring it across for you.

No, I said that the medicare costs the government ~$192 billion every year, all of it tax money. That averages out to just under $6K per person, for every person in the country. Our healthcare is not "free" at all, the true cost is just buried in the enormous amount of taxes we pay. When you compare the true cost of healthcare between the US and Canada, the difference isn't really that great.

I agree that saving $300 on an AR is a poor reason to emigrate.

Not everyone pays the same amount of taxes, so you cant say it cost $6000 in taxes per person per year.
Our taxes does not just cover our health care, it also cover education, roads, policing, government employees etc.
The government also borrow money to support its spending.

The $192B I quoted is the amount transferred to the provinces only for health care, nothing else. I said the cost averages out to $6K per person, not that each person pays $6K to cover it. As for the borrowing, where do you think the money will come from to pay that back, plus the interest?

I am done, we are screwing up OP's thread.

ummm...i'm about to move to california for a sweet 6 figure job + 401k + benefits + house with in ground pool, etc etc.....but....no AR's, no SBR, no anything...except for the county I am in is a shoe-in for will-issue CCW. is it worth it just to have ccw?

so come one, being in the USA is not the endall be all of gun freedom. Cali sucks balls for it.

Live in Canada, free health insurance (for the most part)... pay more for AR15's. Live in the US, shell out $10k-$15k/annually for health insurance. But I get cheap ARs and saved $300 on switching my car insurance to Geico...

Send me a post card when you emigrate...
:jerkit:

Report came out yesterday that the cost of health care in Canada for an average family works out to about $11000 per year. That's not my definition of "free". But I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. :p

Forbid it happens to anyone here but my sister was in a life destroying accident when she was 13 if we were in the states my childerens children would be paying her healthcare bills as even the best health insurance has severe limitations and spending caps (looked into moving there about 15yrs ago)

If you ever need to really use it you will be glad it is the way it is

And i agree it has some serious problems but so does any gov. Run programs in any country

As for the ar. big deal

we got it pretty good here... we dont pay that much more in taxes here...

their first brackets are 15% up to $35 350 and 25% up to $85 650,
ours are 15% up to $42,707 and 22% up to $85414

but we all get healthcare out of our taxes... and i would say our schools are better funded i think the US has sales tax like GST, PST

they do get a pretty sweet military with most of their tax dollars

I think we could, with enough time and effort, get canada back to pre 1995 era

Sales tax is much lower in the states than here, most states have only a few percent sales tax. We do have much lower taxes than most countries in Europe though, both Income and Sales. Yes, our government does spend many $$$ on useless crap and special interest groups, but I also prefer our political system over that of the U.S..

Well if it makes anyone feel better we seem to have much lower prices on fun things and used cars. I do a lot of research when I think about buying things and seadoo's, ATVs and even Jeeps are much cheaper in Canada. I bought a 99 Cherokee with a decent option load and only a few specs of rust and worn paint with 225k km on it for 1800 bucks recently in Canada. Granted that was a good deal, but in the states (Washington and Oregon) it looks like the best I can do is around 4 grand. It's harder to compare though as it seems only craigslist is used. Funny that I've had people tell me how awesome it is when really it's one step up from a digital community bulletin board.

I suspect cash for clunkers is to blame for drying up the cheap used car market.
