regardless of shooting sports you are involved in,...I have seen car stages,...UFO stages,..buildings,.docks,..Boats,...trenches. I saw an old greyhound type bus the other day parked at an abandoned business. It was rusting out,..with no likely chance of use except for spare parts (?). IF the windows were removed and a blowtorch cut out areas to allow for rounds to go threw,...gas tank emptied or removed, it could be a neat stage. Any one have experience with this...?

We had 2 school busses - the stage started in the drivers seat, hands on the wheel, open the door with the crank engage targets in the doorway, then at the windows we had plastic barrels attached to the outside to make you lean through the windows and engage the scenarios, exit through the back door to a jungle lane engaging scenarios both sides - was fun !

Dont do an airliner type shoot inside -- dangerous ricochets.

Very cool idea, I am picturing 4 different stages in my head right now for this.

i am thinking two stages outside,...two inside or starting outside going in,...and one starting inside going out the back door. (actually,...school bus or public transit bus would be needed for that). Lots of penalty targets,..hard cover,.etc..

So many possibilities. Theme would be around saving the hostages..etc...

There's some videos on Youtube of the IPSC nationals taking place in South Africa where you start of sitting down in the cockpit of an old fuselage of an Atlas Impala MKII. Scenario of a downed pilot. Very cool.

It all sounds great and would be very cool. However, unless you own the range you are shooting at, you have to convince the club owners to let you bring in the props. They may want you to remove everything post match. If you have the connections to do this, it would be awsome. You could always add to the course year after year. Would be nice to try having a building and play DOOM. What would be nice to try open with tac lights in the dark but that would spoil the rules I guess.

Dalhousie has (maybe) a SHock and Awe match,.....tac lights/lasers are encouraged.

I think CFO range regs in ontario do not let you have metal stuff on the range unless it is a target and is shrouded. Maybe we can use a fisher price bus?

World Shoot 10(?) Bisley in the UK had a stage where you started on the top deck of an open top double decker London bus. Engage some targets from the top of the bus and then down the narrow stairs for the rest of the stage. Helps those old London buses don't have doors at the back.

Legend has it one competitor chose to jump from the top leaving the RO to run down the stairs behind him, but I'm not sure I really believe that!!!

I might be able to use my home defence toys after all like my new Sig Sauer STL-900L Tactical Light/Laser. Now that I might book off work to go to. Just imagine, a custom made stage with all imaginable obstacles and get to use your personal toys on it. WOW....:jerkit:

They also had a stage starting from a helicopter and one where you started sat on a real Police Motorcycle (borrowed from the Met). I had to laugh when to protect the calibrated speedo someone taped a quarter inch bit of plywood over the dials....

I can say that the restigouche gun and country club is pretty active in IPSC and action shooting, if it is cool and feasible that we will give it a shot. Or two. Or three. However A bus would present a lot of logistical challenges. Even if someone gave us the bus we would have to transport it to the range, and remove it from the range (it is not a junkyard). It would be a very expensive prop.

Here are a few of the props that we have had.

The boat

the texas star

the trench

I don`t even know what this was but it looks cool.

I wish the Trench was still there,..that was cool. The 2008 vid shows some of the great stages.
