Don't you love being 'that gun guy' in the family that serves as a catch all for all things firearms related?

Had an uncle-in-law drop these off for me, with no explanation other than "they were in a barn"

Any idea what I've got here?

Any idea on their value?

Large quantity of this ammo was retailed in Canada c1970. Should be steel cased and it worked well.

IIRC, that is some of the stuff that came into Canada in the mid seventies. They brought in a couple of different types.

There was the military stuff in similar white boxes, steel cases, lead bullets and tons of grease all over the cartridge, which was black in color. They came in SPAM cans, 2500/can.

Then the sold cases of the stuff in your pics. I don't remember if it is black in color or not.

One thing to remember. Back in the early seventies, the Russians were considered to be at the top of the pack when it came to 22lr firearms and ammo.

That stuff will be dirty as all get out but if the priming hasn't deteriorated(normal) it will be extremely accurate and consistent.

I forget what that stuff cost but suffice to say a box of CIL Whiz Bangs, sold for 25 cents and the cartridges in your pics ran for about 1/3 of that price or 10 cents a box if you bought them by the case of 2500.

Keep them. You will never see them again. If old cool things that are firearms related aren't your thing, sell them for the $5.00 that they will bring and be done with it.
