Cricket 410 'My First Shotgun' chamber question

^ Nvmd... Ive learned something today :)

But OK where can I find .410 at reasonbable prices #3 or #4 steel shot in Canada to hunt waterfowl??

At the time they changed to "non-toxic" shots the kids been told "we can no longer use .410s". Because there was no "non-toxic" ammo available for that bore size.... And it's overall questionable to use a .410 for migratory. So many crippled birds!

I know winchester used to make steel 410 shells. Not a clue if they do now. Bismuth and TSS are available but you might want to sit down before seeing the price.
It's troublesome finding any 410 right now except personal defense loads

I guess grumpy old guy has to wonder if someone can not handle "normal" recoil of a "normal" .410 shotgun, maybe that person should not be involved with them - take up knitting, if they can avoid poking self with the pointy ends. Sounds like a bunch of marketing B.S. to get a buyer to buy that "improved chamber" product.
Remember this is marketed towards someone whos 4 foot #### all and 70 pounds soaking wet and perhaps very new to guns. Anything that can help reduce perceived recoil at such a young age whether it’s needed or not is more than welcome in my opinion, nothing worse than a flinch or a kid who doesn’t want to shoot because of a bad experience.

I could, but their arms are much too short for an adult size 12ga, which is all I have currently.

I don't think I'm going to make the trek out to Reliable just for a 410 shotgun, so we'll see whats leftover tomorrow when the online sale goes live... They've got the Tuffy 410s on sale too, might grab one of those instead...

I mean for this to sound realistic, what about sulun arms 12 Ga with either barrels or 12" barrel and mini shells?

My wife wouldnt shoot higher than a 22, but I showed her shooting that myself with minishells one handed and she had confidence to try it.

You could potentially reload your own minishells too to reduce felt recoil.

I could, but those are significantly more money than a single shot 410. Almost bought a Rossi tuffy from reliable but the last one sold while I was thinking it over.

I've decided I'm going to start with chopping the stock on my $100 Turkish 12ga single, I've got a 410 adapter to go with it already. From there I can make the small step up to 12ga mini shells if/when they're ready.

Thanks for the input everyone.

It's gonna be a nice piece of kit I bet.

Very suitable for youth hunters.

Can you please post a pic once it's done?
