Because it's a Cricket. It's entire purpose is to be a ultra simple, low budget kids rifle not a coyote rig.

That's the main reason why I wouldn't buy one. I would rather get a savage mark2 with their TR stock. I can single feed that for my kids just fine if I ever felt I needed to.

why single shot only?

Why not mag fed

Some of the best shooting guns are single shot. Start them out right . Conserve ammo, make every shot your best trigger discipline etc.

Here is a good one. Lets say you have a 50 round string to shoot. Competitor A has a mag fed .22 and 2x 10 round mags. Competitor B has a single shot rifle.

If the shooters have the same skill level, the single shot will always be faster on a timed course, and will generally post a better scopre

I bought a cricket for my nephew a few years back, and before I gave it to him I had a proper steel cocking knob made for it. The plastic ones that come with them really are a cheap piece of crap.

Agreed. Love the speed games with 10/22's etc. fun times, fun times.
