Anyone have any tricks to crimp a heeled bullet. I have my 32 colt dies but the bullet gets in the way of my taper crimp die. A drop or two of crazy glue holds the bullet into place and helps me get the desired results but it's messy. Tried electrical pliers with a hole the size of the bullet base and all that that does is makes a mess of my brass
There must be an easier way.

Thanks!

I reload for several obsolete heeled calibers and I had the same problem at one time. When I ordered a mould for my 11mm French Revolver from ht ttp:www.oldwestbulletmoulds.com I also ordered his crimp tool for the same. Bernie is a great guy and makes very nice moulds btw. What came was a Lee crimp tool in 45cal with a modified adjustable base. Once I got it set up it made great crimps. Since then I have purchased other Lee crimp tools for other calibers and used the same adjustable base or made up something different. A picture of Bernies base is here: (Not my picture)

A list of Lee crimp tools can be found here:

I would start with the 32-20 crimp tool. Basically you are looking for as close to your diameter as possible but make sure it isn't a taper crimp. You want the factory crimp. If you are handy you should be able to figure it out.

Run it up through a sizing die without the decapper pin. Alternately buy a neck sizing die and vary the dies until you find the right crimp for you
