crimping heeled bullets

the 50 cal antique saga continues. i wanted to crimp the bullets but
the bullets are as big as the brass. i made plier crimper useing a cheap
lineman pliers. i bored a collor in the lathe same size as the brass. i
left a small band .010 smaller at one end to give me a 5 thou crimp.
it seams to be working OK.

I have seen similar done for the 41 long Colt. 50cal antique and a rimless cartridge tell us more what have you been up to

Old West Bullets Molds- makes great crimp dies for heeled bullets out of Lee dies- I swear by them !!

I use a slightly modified 44/40 Lee factory crimp die for the 11mm French heeled bullet.
When I get more time I will make a post on how to do it.
