crimping question for the bullet casters

What is the accuracy difference between a heavy crimp and a light crimp on 45-70 loads???

With heavy smokeless loads I have not seen any difference, with Black Powder loads, it makes a big difference.

I backed off on the crimp on the 45-70's and the accuracy kept on improving,not that it was bad but if things can be improved by doing a simple procedure then I'm all for it.
PS, the big 420 grain GC cast bullets chronied in at 1635 fps, that's fast enough out of the shorty Marlin.

I played around with different degree's of crimping in my .45-70 single shot and with.44 & .357 Mag's. I never noticed any appreciable effect on accuracy.
