My kimber pro covert II came with these laser grips and I rarely use them because I am better with open sights.Any ways the laser worked perfect for the first 4 months and about 1000 rounds through the gun.(only about 70 shot fired with the laser) it is a great tool to show others there trigger pull:D. my question is: the laser was a very fine point and now it seems It is very distorted. I have cleaned it so it works good at home but as soon as I shoot about 30 shots through it it goes distorted again. any ideas???? could it be the batteries or dirty ammo? I has cleaned it time and time again only with water and it workes clearly only temporary.
has anyone else experianced this before?
here is a pic of the gun. the laser is in the grips for those that:D didn't already know.

Its crap getting on the laser. When it gets dirty, you will see a much larger dot, and sometimes two dots. They should have a small plug you could put in to protect the laser when you're not shooting with it.

it sounds like a layer of protective film that covers the led has probably worn down over time. A little bit of clear tape (replaced when needed) on the laser, fresh batteries and you might be back to normal.

its not that old, but I will try that. when I clean it it is almost fine then after a couple of shots its distorted again. I will start with the battieries but it really hasn't seen alot of use.(the laser, not the gun;))
thanks for all the sugestions
