crocus cloth to clean brass?

I was trimming and resizing some used 3006 in to 8x57. Some were pretty dark and ugly. I use a Lee case trimmer that goes on a drill, after chamfering I picked up a peace of crocus cloth and gave the brass a spin in the drill a very light buff with the cloth. In 2 seconds or less, brighter than new. Never been much for polishing brass before. Anyone else ever do it this way.

I asked for it at UAP, they looked at me like I was from Mars.
True crocus cloth was fabric backed, and excellent stuff for polishing hydraulic valves and such, as it didn't tear as easily as the paper backed stuff.

I better get some more the next time I see it. And a couple of point ignition files to.
 
I use steel wool, just be sure to use it away from your reloading bench. The little pieces that fall off the wool clump can get everywhere that you don't want them. I use mine out in the garage when I anneal.
