I just bought an old crosman 357 from a friend today that still had the card board and foam box all in tact. I was surprised to see that it was made by coleman Canada. Did not realize coleman or crosman was Canadian. Are they still? Hows the quality of the new compared to the old? Thanks for any replies. Happy shooting!

Crosman CO2 pistols are mostly junk. The internal parts, like triggers, are and were made out of very soft metal and wear out fast. Plus as the CO2 runs out you lose velocity. Cute toys, but that's all.

Completely disagree. Keep seals and catches on hand and keep shootin'.

If the above statement were true, I wouldn't have 32 year old Crsoman 357s that still hit everything I aim at.

I try to not let all the harping on Sunray and his posts get to me, but in this case, seriously WTF?

I read nothing but good things about the Crossman .357 CO2 pistols, and so I bought one. I am very impressed for $60, and it has been going strong for over a year now with no maintenance. It is also accurate as I have ever seen a CO2 pistol, and much more accurate than any BB variants.

I have had one for about 8 years now without any problems whatsoever! good air pistols for the money, have noticed that they come on special at Canadian Tire every now and then.

I find that they were quite well made pistols, Ive had one for almost 30 years and as of last weekend it still functions perfectly and has never leaked or had any problems. It was bought at a yard sale almost new in the box and is also one of the Canadian made models.

.
I picked up one, still in the box, including a half-dozen co2 cylinders, at the local dump when someone cleaned out a house. Only thing missing was the pellet holders and it took me about a week to get them. The 6 inch barrel model, and very accurate.

Old Crosman's are not like the new garbage.. The Hammer Seal goes, and Crosman doesn't sell a hammer seal, they tell you to buy a new gun.. I've owned everything from the 357, to the C21, and until I got real guns, I was replacing them every couple of years..

Now I have my spring action rifles, and my .22's, and 1 C11 left, once its dead, then it wont get replaced. at least with my spring pellet rifles, they're always at least 495 fps every shot, can't say the same about CO2
