**for barn pigeons**

Hey guys-in my pursuit of the "perfect"/budget pigeon blaster...I've cycled through an Industry Brands QB-79 (22, should have kept it) a Diana 24C in .177, a Diana 24 in .22 and lastly...a QB-78 with designs on having it tuned for a little more power. All killed pigeons just fine, but all had their limitations and generally speaking, I hate 12gr. CO2 for about 100 reasons.

The least problematic air guns I ever owned/used were pump-up pneumatics, and I wouldn't pretend to guess how many pests my old 1377 (with the 1399 stock) has dispatched. Got that gun in about 1985. lol In all honesty, as much as I like airguns I take almost no pleasure in actually shooting them now. Especially pumpers..but here we are. lol

Anyhow, pigeons are generally NOT smart things of course, but DO recognize a threat quickly...so by the time you've taken 5-10 shots...usually a few are on the ground and the rest long gone. Seems to me that for a light, affordable .22 cal air rifle capable of some impressive velocity with few pumps, the Crosman 362 might be a good choice. (+steel breech to mount a scope)

Just wondering if anyone here has one, what pellets it likes...if it's being used for any pest control, etc. Obviously, I'm expecting a light/cheap-ish Crosman (=think I'm realistic) but these seem to be well received based on the reviews...?

I have one. Better than a modded 1322, 3 pumps is just under 500 FPS. I have the steel breech on mine, with a Nikon Sterling 3-9x40 AO.

Here is FPS per pump list that I made when I got it.

Using Stoeger 13.73 Wadcutters and Daisy 15.8grn HP.

It will do well on barn pigeons, I shot and killed pigeons with way less power airguns.

An old Benjamin in new clothes. Not that there is any problem with that, besides the obfuscation of source.

Personally, I always like the spring piston guns better. One cocking stroke, load a pellet, and get the same results as last time!

Pigeons are not exactly tough to knock down, provided you have some level of accuracy to back it up!

You are thinking of the 392. This never was a reskin. It's a mix of like 5 guns.

362 is just a longer 1322. Sonething crosman should made 20 + years ago. Trigger mech is just the Disco/maximus/2260. I like they finally put an alum piston in it. Uses standard 7/16" barrel like on most of their guns.

People spent alot of money on 1322s to have everything this 362 has.

I did find that my aftermarket Gmac custom breech would not work. The transfer port would not lined up. But the factory breech worked perfect.

Spring pistons take a bit of skill to master. I love my QB88.. Diana 48 clone.

I've been eyeing one partly due to a member recommendation on another thread. I went down the YouTube rabbit hole and came across a video where someone put the optic mounts that Crosman makes, that fasten on to the rifle without the need of a steel breach to mount an optic. The reviews of those are so so but I did find a guy in the US that 3d prints his own mounts for the 362 and others, which have good reviews. Anyone go that route over a steel breach?

I had a clamp-on scope mount on my 1377 years ago, 2pc./stamped sheet metal affair. Seemed to hold, but clunky and ugly. Gonna be a steel breech for me, only wish Crosman just equipped them with it.

Yeah I used intermounts on my first 2240 20 years ago, I could not get them tight enough without clamping vise grip to the heads. As the holes stripped.

It's only like 50$ for the steel breech kit. It also seals better than the plastic.

I'll end up with a steel breech as well but I would be curious to give the Buck Rail mounts a whirl. For the price though, by the time they came from the states, it'd cost more than the steel breech I'd end up with anyway. Guess I better buy the gun before ordering parts.

I ordered one of these yesterday, it seems the reviews on them are fairly mixed. I can kinda see a couple areas to work on to improve the accuracy potential.. possibly, but ill cross that bridge only if I need to. If it hits a soup can at 30m reliably, I probably won't mess with it. But the front band and grub screw being so far forward, and the lack of any additional barrel support out in front of the breech are 2 things I think I could improve fairly simply to sturdy up the barrel and pump tube. And by the looks, the stock could use some additional support somehow too. Seems a bit floppy of a fit. But, knowing what I'm getting into and I don't mind these things. Gives me something to tinker with for fairly cheap. And odds are it can be accurized fairly easily.

How is everyone liking theirs so far? Any accuracy or reliability reports?

Crosman makes a piece that goes in between the barrel and tube, well it was for the phase 1 1322 but should work to offer extra support.

Remember this is just a scaled up version of something they been making for 40 years.

Totally, I'm a big fan of the 13xx guns and have a few. The 1322 carbine is one of my favs to shoot in the backyard and ive always wanted to bump the platform up to 500+fps but don't want to make it restricted. So this being sold as a PAL rated rifle was a huge bonus to be able to push the capabilities for something I can actually use in the field.
Though this gun looks to steal design components from quite a few crosman built guns, looks like the valve, TP and breech are the only carry overs from the 13xx guns.

I'll probably rarely use it at full power. I like the 5-600fps speeds and the idea that 3-4 pumps in this will give me the same power as a 1322 at 10-12 pumps is very appealing. And having up to 8 pumps to reach out a bit further is always welcome.

I'm stoked to play with this thing. Can't wait.

I'm not an air gun expert by any stretch but I bought myself a Gammo Swarm a while ago for plinking at the cottage. I like the 10 shot mag. The scope that comes with it is crap of course, will be changing it out when I get a chance.

These look like great air rifles. I really like the innovation in mag designs for pellet guns lately.
But overall im not really that interested in high speed springers. They tend to be heavy and awkward, and just the "pwang" noise they make when they shoot sort of annoys me.. The biggest benefit of the Crosman 362 is the weight and size, ease of accurate shooting and still having good power. The precharged pneumatic guns including multipumps are substantially smaller and lighter weight making them a lot easier to carry around. And because the shot is just releasing stored pressurized air, it has almost no recoil and isn't hold sensitive like a spring or gas piston rifle.
The other major benefit being the variable power, you can shoot it indoors with 2 or 3 pumps at 400-450fps for target practice, or hunt with it on 8 pumps for 650+fps. Nice to be able to quietly plink usimg minimal pumps with the same rifle that has the capability of hitting a lot harder if you want it to.

I have to advise everyone to avoid purchasing through the Crosman Canada site from distrilogistics. A few days after I made my purchase there was a fraud attempt using my credit card information from the same region of Quebec as the distributor for crosman. Thankfully it was flagged and didn't go through, but its a pain in the arse now, my CC is canceled and I need to go through every account that is prepaid on that card to put a new number on file.
