Crosman 362 Any fans?

Well, some gentle vice work with towels and spacers and I've got it 100% straight. And it shoots 100% straight now with the sights centered. So ill call that a win. Seems a little more accurate now also.

I won't lie, I love working on stuff. I'm not even mad haha.

Good job.

Good job.

Well thanks. I debated for about 0.5 seconds the idea of contacting crosman and sending it back. A bent barrel shouldn't really happen on a brand new gun, but these days I've come to accept that this kinda crap happens all the time. Took under half an hour to make it right again.

I've come up with some plans since I had it partially taken down. Need to fix that front sight in place with some silicone or something. And I'll be making a tube/bbl spacer to stiffen the barrel out of steel epoxy, as well as tightening the barrel fit in the front band with electrical tape like I do with my 13xx guns. Definitely going to be putting a red dot or reflex sight on this thing.
I'm really starting to like it as I work out it's shortcomings. Typical crosman haha

It shouldn't, but it could had been dropped, damaged in shipping, who knows. Like said Crosman QC is like everything, non existent. A 7/16" barrel is pretty thin and could bend easy.

Look for a barrel spacer for a Crosman 2260. It fits between tube and barrel, and should fit the 362. I'm trying to think if I still have a piece to test.

I'll probably end up making a barrel spacer with fiberglass reinforced steel epoxy. The crosman one is obsolete now apparently.
This thing is kinda pellet picky so far, but it likes the Crosman Premier hollowpoints. So I'm happy about that, they're readily available and cheap. Getting around 0.5" groups at 10m sitting semi rested using the iron sights.

Also, it needs a dampener to calm down the volume when pumping it up. Holy does it ever clack loud. I draw more attention to myself pumping the thing than i do shooting it... Im considering using silicone to bed the pump arm to the tube, and also put a layer of silicone over the steel piece the magnet sticks to.

There are fixes for it. Same issue as the 13xx. They're known as the Clackers. People put soft side of velcro on the tube. Or I think its 7/16" vinyl tube over the pump arm linkage.

I used to think the 13XX guns were loud to pump. The 362 is honestly several orders of magnitude louder than my 1322. Vinyl tube is a good call.

Alum piston and bigger pump arm.

Knew someone with a brass piston and it cracked hard. It was in the states and used it for dispatching. The moderator on it was pointless as the clacking would scare away anything.

Who wants to take a guess at what changed between the group on the left, and the group on the right.

Lol, the difference was 2 pumps. Left target was shot using 4 pumps, right hand side was shot using 6 pumps. Both at 15 yds using the iron sights, semi rested off the back of a lawnchair.

don't give up
this guy was kind-of disappointed but then found some pellets that worked

Yeah I saw that one too, it's picky. But it seems like it has a preferred number of pumps for each weight of pellet. 5-8 pumps gives the best accuracy with all the pellets I've tried so far though. I'll have to try a light weight pellet next and see if it improves accuracy on fewer pumps, 11 grain or so. The 14.3 crosman HP do best at 6-7 pumps, 17.1g Stoeger magnum and 21.1 g Stoeger "power" copper coated pellets both do best at full power, 8 pumps.

These heavy stoegers sure smack the cans with authority on 8 pumps.
