Hey guys-my search for a no-nonsense pigeon blaster has hit another road block. lol Won't bore you with the history, but I thought I was doing myself a favor by buying this PAL-rated pumper off the EE. No springs, no gas tanks, no CO2-just like the 1377 I grew up with and put a million rounds through. Bought it months ago, but only shot it on the weekend for the first time.
1.pumping effort is insanely high, I could only get 5/8 pumps out of it before the pumping effort was well past the point of being an enjoyable experience.
2.attempting to zero the scope @ 20 yards (2 pellet types) the groups were ridiculously large. zeroing the scope (or attempting to) made no sense after 20 minutes of this futility. All I did is wear myself out and question why I bother with airguns anymore.
Reading online, these could be related. I've read that if the pumping effort is that great there is likely something wrong. I'm 5'11", 265lbs., and work with my hands. I don't consider myself weak, likely stronger than the average middle-aged office worker. lol I know a PAL rated gun won't operate like a toy, but I was straining to get 5. I read a reference to a product for lubricating, anyone use this before?;

Read that some people have broken the hinge pins on these guns due to the excessive pumping effort not being addressed. I can't imagine Crosman would even make an airgun that requires Brock Lesnar-like strength to pump. (read one a forum someone describing it that way, lol)
Open to ideas, and about ready to toss this thing in the junk pile one outing-in. lol Kidding aside, if there is a fix...I'll take a crack at it. Yet another air rifle that disappoints, the list is growing. This gun is effectively brand-new condition wise.
Hoping someone has some input/advice.
thanks!
