In going through a bunch of stuff in my fathers basement I came across one of the pellet/bb guns I had in my teens. After inspecting, cleaning and oiling it I came to discover it no longer holds air when pumped. You can hear the air exhausting as you pump the gun and there is no back pressure building. Is this a simple inexpensive fix or should I just trash the gun. If it's repairable without too much expense or trouble I'd repair it and give it to my neigbours young fellow.

I'd fix it up, for the price of a reseal kit I'd say its worth it but be sure to check the velocity after with a chrony because it may be a PAL rated rifle depending on the valve in it

I am finding myself in a similar situation, was the cost to fix prohibitive? Or the process? TIA.

I was looking for reseal kits for some other airguns recently. Don't remember the 760 or 766 specifically, but many of the airgun sources I searched had a ton of Crosman seals available for only a few bucks each.

But before you even spend that much, I'd try lubing the seals generously and letting them sit for a few days, then repeat the process a couple times. Clean up afterward and try them out, you might be surprised. It won't become a FWB Olympic-grade shooter, but it never was. Nothing to lose. :)

megalink - Try this forum for advice. I've used it for several airgun repairs. DIY you can prob find seals at a car parts shop like NAPA or ever hdwe store. If you are not DIY capable, maybe pass it on to someone who IS. Trashing is stupid !
