I was looking for some kind of an Airsoft M-16 or pistol replica to scare of squirrels in our back yard and ended up finding a Crosman M4-177 they just received yesterday at CT. After many hesitations, I finally bought the thing without making any previous research on the Internet about its accuracy and reliability.
It is not a CO2, neither a break barrel, but has a pump mechanism, and with 5 to 8 pumps it reaches its said 495 feet per second velocity. The entire gun is plastic except for the barrel and pump mechanism. It has an adjustable stock, the ergonomic and the look of the real thing.
I tested it on a target and it has reasonable accuracy with 177 pellets, it is less accurate with copper BB. If the tacticool thing is your bag, I think it is perfect air for plinking around and doing some pest control. The trigger is surprisingly soft.
Anyway, I started my search looking for a toy gun and ended up with this little air-gun.
