I picked up a Crosman Optimus .177 495fps at Crappy Tire for $99.00. Well, actually it was free 'cause I used my bonus bucks.
Anyway, I've got a spring/seals kit on the way,

along with a GTX Gen II replacement trigger.

Is there anything else I can do to get the most out of this cheap airgun, without a lot more money? I'll likely get a better scope too, but that can be switched up to another gun if I choose to get a better airgun someday. I'm looking at a Hawke 3-9x40. Still cheap for optics, but at least they are made to withstand airgun recoil.
I've looked up making a spring compressor jig, not sure how I'll do it yet.
Any other tips or advise on installing the new spring, or getting the most out of this thing?
