Excuse me if I don't have the correct term, but I'm carving wood out of a piece of walnut for my Tikka, and would like to put in a piece of metal across the inletting for the action to hold onto, similar as to what was installed from factory, but instead of a piece of steel dropped into wood plastic, it would be like a bolt that does through the stock. What's the term for this, where would I find one, and any tips on how to get the location right the first time?
Plan is to get that in and then bed the stock, though I have nothing against pillar bedding.
Or, any suggestions on what you would use alternatively if this is against your preferences?
