I am looking for a crossover hunting and target scope. It needs turrets and 15-25 (or more) objective Power at max. Can be ffp or spf but huge requirement is locking turrets. Budget is $3000.

I would add what you are hunting and the distance you think you will be shooting... FFP for sure and lots of new scope options out there FINALLY, thanks to the PRS world!

Absolutely. Target range is 1000 meters plus. Caliber will be .25 locking turrets is the big deal.

Hope that helps.

G2 razor is great but heavy. Don't you find it a bit much lugging it around?

The new LHT Razors aren't too heavy. I've got one on my 6.5 PRC. Great crossover scope.

Thanks folks. I am not really worried about weight. I have other rifles if I am worried that. This rifle will be in and out of the truck, on the quad, in the car, with dogs jumping around etc. Living in the country that bull, buck or bear can scream across your path at any time often barely, if at all, giving you time to get a shot let alone make sure you or a dog hasn’t bumped a turret. So a hunting scope is best here but I also like to hike up ridges or drive across cut blocks to position targets so like target turrets here.

It’s a quasi long range gun and a bit more weight settles it down. 30 cal boomer. I carry my wife’s T3x in bush walks. It has a cheapie 3-9, until she realizes it’s limitations, and then it’s shopping time...

Athlon Helos BTR gen2... don't let the price fool you. They are punching WAY above their price point... and have no issues using them for shooting out towards 1 mile.

PM or email if I can help

Jerry

How's the glass on them ? I was looking for the 4-20 on my 308 for both hunting and shooting (600 yards) without breaking the bank.

Sadly no one is carrying Athlon around here and I don't know anyone with one.

I'm also a bit wary of China glass.

I have been very happy with the performance of Athlon product line and each new scope, ups their optics game a bunch.

the Helos BTR Gen2 offers some of the best HD glass I have looked through. ED glass is still the champ and cost a bunch more but for many shooters, this will be a very positive improvement.

The glass in the helos g2 is better then the other previous best buys which include the Ares BTR and Midas TACs.

PM or email if you want to discuss further. There are a bunch of positive reviews on youtube and these scopes have been used to do well in rimfire PRS games ... very demanding sport on scopes. I have one for my competition rimfire rifle ... very happy with how it operates.
