Since I'll more likely than not be buying this from Frontier I figured I'd ask this question here as well.

Are there any aftermarket options available for Mare's Leg stocks? I checked a couple of US sites but found nothing.

It doesn't need to be sold by Frontier, just knowing they are out there would be enough.

Thanks,

Brownells sells replacement stocks, you may just have to do some fitting. I think they have wood for 92's and 94's. Also, I am sure Henry have replacement stocks for fixing rifles. I mean it can't be unheard of that someone buys a rifle and either breaks the stock by dropping the gun, or dripping something on the stock.

The stock is nice, have you ever even seen one in person? I have one and it is quality. Absolutely no reason to replace it.

I think he means what if he wants to go from the 'mare's leg' short stock to a normal full stock and just use it as a short carbine.

Buy the carbine then. I would have rather just done that. Mare's Leg is a sweet gun, but if I could go back I would have bought the carbine, H001, or Golden Boy. You can't really go wrong with a Henry lever in my opinion.
