So I crossed over to the dark side I bought a Tupperware gun. Found a deal on a 3rd gen Glock 17.
Any recommendations for the new glock owner? Aftermarket parts, ammo, holsters, cheapest place for mags?

Don't bother with the 3.5# connector. There is a reasonable chance the 3.5# connector drops it below 5# actual pull weight, and then isn't production legal.

Sights: I MUCH prefer Heinies to Mepros. What are we going to do with night sights in a country where you can't legally shoot in the dark?

Get lots of extra magss. $30 from poilce ordnance.

-Replace the sights first - I like the Meprolights (Mandatory).
-3.5# connectors are very nice (Optional).
-Extra Mags (Optional) ;)

With the NY1 trigger and the 3.5 connector you have an 8.5 lb trigger pull that is sweet......

You cant go wrong with a Glock, unless there was the option to buy an HK first.

Anothe vote here for Heinie sights, ans well as the 3.5# connector and NY Spring.

Also, consider adding grip tape like AGrip or Decal Grip, and I recommend the extended mag release for it too.

Heinie Slant Pro sights, straight eights if you want night sights. I have them on my G17, also had them on my Para P16 and G19.

3.5 pound connector. I haven't tested one that didn't make a 5 pound trigger pull. Mine consistently breaks around five pound three ounces on a lyman digital trigger tester.

Extra mags.

CR Speed belt, ghost holster & CR Speed mag pouches.

I've no experience with the Guga Ribas mag pouches but they look good.

The CR Speed holster is good, the ghost seems a little bit smoother.

No need to change anything else, if you plan to shoot IPSC Production Division you can't apart from adding grip tape or an A-Grip.

Let me rephrase: Anywhere in Canada you are allowed to shoot in the dark has a lightswitch.

Nope. That's still crazy talk. We're probably going to be doing some outdoor night matches this fall. The only lighting will be whatever people drag along with them.
