Just picked this up for my daughter and I to trash some pop cans in the back yard. Looks and feels pretty decent! I was shocked that they asked me for I.D. to purchase pellets!! It's been a long time since I've bought any air gun stuff, it threw me when the little girl working in the sports department asked to see my drivers license or health card. I asked if my PAL would suffice..."it should she said. It's government issued right?"....

I was never been asked for ID when I bought pellets in Canada, but I was asked for ID when I bought pellets in US.

At most places around me they will ask for you to sign the logbook for pellets or even bb's. I've been asked for my drivers license. And also been asked for a PAL when buying blackpowder for one of my antique status (which is not required for powder as it falls under the explosives act and not the firearms act) I think it comes down to paranoia and improper knowledge of Canada's laws.

Had several of those growing up. Made a leather holster for it and carried it all over the bush. Had 3 different barrel length's and even found way's to lighten up the trigger pull.
But my Crossman 177's? I remember sending a couple back to Crossman because the forearm's wouldn't stay up,turn's out I wore them out.

In Ontario the CFO has placed all airgun and BB pellets in the same category as all other ammo and all sellers have to sight ID to sell, you were lucky they did not also try to log the purchase in their CFO mandated ammo sales register (seen it happen).

so glad i live in alberta... i mean, it's crazy here, but not ontario crazy....

I just purchased a Benjamin-Sheridan Titan .22 from D&L Airguns, along with a small selection of pellets. According to the e-mail they sent to me, the pellets have to be shipped separate from the air rifle because 'ammunition cannot be shipped with firearms', so I had to cough up an extra $12.50 for a second box.

Glad to know another pellet gun rampage has been averted. :p

D&L are great people, pity they are shackled to dumb rules.
