Crow Hunting Ontario

I have 2 nesting pairs of kestrals and 1 pair of baltimore orioles building a basket right now. Anything that interfers with them doesn't last long. I also feed the flickers and enjoy the redwing blackbirds call. Sterlings and crackles and crows are my choicest targets. I do have a lot of song birds around. I've had a few hundred crows corner my basset hound pup out on the lawn before. Very smart bird so smart that I'd haveta put my truck in the barn to get a flight over the farm. If my truck was out they would flare a km away. A wounded crow on the ground is the best decoy you can get

Dead crows make the best decoys. Cheap, plentiful and fully biodegradable. Tie a couple together by the necks with a short cord and toss into the trees inbehind or infront of your blind. If a wounded crow gets away it will distract from your calling and blind. Make sure you finish flappers off fast! Indeed, wounded do drive crows crazy :)

I only got 804 this round. I average around 1100-1200 mark.

And I was thinking if my buddy and I got 5 or 6 between us, we'd be content. :D That's wild, great to hear! I'll try to find an owl at canadian tire or something, seems to be a lot of consensus about that. Thanks for the advice, everyone!

A bird shooter has not lived until he has shot 100 or more crows in a few furious hours. Called the "century club". Your shoulder will be sore from recoil, neck, back sore from bending and twisting, and a mild head boomer from blowing a mouth call in conjunction with the e-caller. Then the farmer will call you up the next day to tell ya that the crows are into another 600 acres of his sunflower 15 miles away...
